I don't claim to be any expert but could it be that that was the last day he could tell them anything as a human creature on earth?

maybe i'm just messed up, but i get really freaked out sometimes.
i can't understand the bible,.....in some places it seems like it's saying all you have to do is one or two things, then it seems like it's saying you have to do different things to be saved.... so many different people and religions have so many different takes on the bible.
i don't know which to beleive, and it scares me that if i beleived the wrong thing that i could go to hell, or just go to sleep forever as the witnesses say.

Sherry:
You are welcome to believe your own version of the way the scriptures are written. I was just showing how it is written in the bible.

In Sherry's comments( paragraph 4), above mine, is what I'm refering to. She felt that Jesus was saying that they would be in paradise that day.

Sherry:
With all due respect for your beliefs, it was robbers who were on torture stakes beside Jesus. He said to them "Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in paradise." The comma coming after the word today denotes he was telling them that day, not that they'd be in paradise that day.
I agree that religious faith should be inclusive and that all are worthy of being saved. So does God. That is why he is allowing this time for people to return to him.

Jez:
Do the names Ruth and Esther sound familiar?
Blues Brother:
God most certainly will punish those who know the truth and then chose not act on it.

Just by asking these questions shows you want to know the truth. The bible tells us that ' anyone calling on the name of Jehovah will be saved'. By seriously asking God for help, he will hear you. Personal bible reading will lead you in the right direction.

i have read the topic "no trespassing..." and can't keep frm asking "are you afraid of dialogue?".
i thought we were in america where we have freedom of speech, i have the freedom to approach my nieghbor oin conversation and he has the right to either continue the discussion or say "not interested" .
this whole thing about wanting to erect signs seem to cut off the freedom of speech that america says it prides itelf on...what happened?
jgnat:
Are you saying that in the last three years your own JW husband will not have a meaningful discussion with you about his JW beliefs? Any JWs I've ever encountered would love to discuss their beliefs.

do you think they "know" us?
do you think the service department looks here to find out how to write the next watchtower??
?
xjw-b12:
You mentioned some posters here as members of the service dept. You mentioned a few others as possible members. Please provide some proof.

hey y'all.
the thread (via free minds) on "the real truth facing aging witnesses" has me back on one of my old topics.
namely, that full-time sales people, administrative and factory workers of a religious publishing company must be provided for when they retire - and i believe they should be paid minimum wage to boot!
Isn't there something wrong with this subject title?
Paid Volunteer equals Oximoron?
jws say, "the apostates are miserable!!
".....do you feel miserable?
(i don't).

Been there ... done that. When I finally took the plung and left, well, there is no way of describing the deepest pain I've ever experienced as being 'in' was all I'd ever known. The pain dulled a bit over time but I never got over the loss of my close relationship with Jehovah. It is with great pleasure that I say I have that feeling back and hope never to lose it again!
Really know what you want as getting back in is a lot harder than getting out ... believe me! But if you know in your heart that you want out, then that is the right thing for you. Just be sure. Take care ... a friend.
